a 2nd September finish for Friday

My Sudoku Quilt is finally done, done, DONE!!!   I think this kit was bought in 2012.  At least, that’s what it’s listed as on my UFO list.  It might have been earlier.

True to my nature, I did not follow the Sudoku pattern that came with the kit.  I like the puzzles where you have the diagonals forming 9 different blocks (as well as the rows and 9-piece blocks.)

The kit had one charm block that was 3″ x 5″.  Groan … thankfully, I did have a charm pack of the same line, so I was able to complete the quilt.  But then, I thought it was too small, so I added the small square row on the top and bottom to make it longer.

Each square is quilted with a different small motif.  I carried the motif throughout the quilt so that you can also see the Sudoku on the back as well as the front.

Happy Quilting!

    • Hi Helen,
Thank you … the 9 little squares along the top & bottom are of the 9 fabrics in the Sudoku kit … just smaller and in random order.
Well, I’d say that you need someone to patiently teach you the logic of Sudoku … with an EASY puzzle – then you will master the easy ones! 🙂
PS: If you want to make a Sudoku quilt & don’t have a solved puzzle to follow – email me & I’ll send you one!.
      Happy Quilting! 🙂

  2. Hi Gail! What a fabulously COOL idea. I love, LOVE, love this. I am fascinated with this pattern and how you interpreted it. What a great finish to share today and congrats on another UFO biting the dust. Woohoo! Happy Friday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne
